No Fear Casey Kelleher

Thrilled to join Bookouture for this Books on Tour!

Crime writer | United Kingdom | Casey Kelleher

Synopsis:

She wanted to save a life. Now she must fight to save herself.

When DC Lucy Murphy meets Debra, wife of feared drug dealer Gerard Jennings, she sees a young woman in desperate need of help. Brutalised by her husband, Debra is too terrified to tell the police what she knows. But Lucy is determined to bring Gerard down – for Debra’s sake, and for the safety of the Griffin Estate.

Meanwhile, after the death of one of his drug runners, Gerard is under pressure from his bosses to prove he’s still up to the job. Facing threats of violence as well as police interest, Gerard is getting desperate – and desperate men are the most dangerous of all.

As Lucy prepares to go undercover in Gerard’s gang to get the evidence she needs to arrest him, her beloved grandmother Winnie starts acting strangely. She mentions a man visiting her at night in her care home, but that makes no sense – does it?

Any distraction could prove deadly for Lucy and the people she’s trying to protect. But she has backed a vicious man into a corner, and he’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants.

A gritty, shocking, action-packed thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. Fans of Martina Cole, Kimberley Chambers and Jessie Keane will love this.

My Thoughts:

Wow oh wow!! All hail a queen of gang land crime, this book is one of the best I’ve read!!

I haven’t been able to put this book down, Casey has gripped me from early on and made it completely addictive yet impossible to leave.

I absolutely love Lucy, she is a great and likeable character. It’s no secret that I favour female authors, this is a prime example of why.

This book literally has it all:

  • Likeable characters
  • Characters you hate
  • Victims you can sympathise with
  • Crime world many of us don’t experience

I’ve definitely had all the feels reading this book. There have been moments of anger, upset and where I’ve wanted to hit Gerard myself.

I absolutely love reading Casey’s books because right when you think you know what’s coming, she hits you with a twist and leaves you on the edge of your seat.

Casey has a superb writing style which just flows nicely and you honestly feel as though you are there. Definitely recommend this one and all of Casey’s other books because there really isn’t one any less than five stars.

This is a fantastic book, by a hugely talented author and I am going to be that person- I cannot wait for the next book!!!

Before long, the two women find themselves entangled in a dangerous game with the Nazis. Will they be discovered? And will they both be able to save the ones they love?

Huge thank you to the lovely Georgia for my place on this blog tour for this absolutely gorgeous book. The cover alone screams out to be picked up. I definitely haven’t been disappointed with this one.

This is a gorgeous read which is both heartwarming but also heart wrenching. This is an end of WW2 love story which is based in war torn Italy. The author has portrayed the horrors of life in Italy during this period.

I have been really struck by the powerful emotion in this author’s writing, it makes me a little ashamed to say that this is my first book by this author. However, I am pleased to say that I am a converted fan and will definitely be reading more.

The main character in this is strong, believable and likeable. The author has given a real sense of personality and quality to each in the book. Additionally, the author has provided a strong sense of date and time throughout the book.

I have been completely amazed how much I have loved this book. I have definitely been kept on the edge of my seat and have completely devoured this entire book in one sitting. This is most definitely a five star read.

No Precedent John Uttley

Thrilled to be asked to take part in this blog tour.

There wasn’t a lightning strike at the church in Evesham where the funeral took place, which Bob regards as sufficient evidence that his theology is sound.’ The northern grammar school pals Bob Swarbrick and Richard Shackleton are back, now facing the era of Brexit, Momentum and Donald Trump. The trials and renewals of Where’s Sailor Jack? behind them, they find themselves in a world whose faith and politics have moved beyond their sphere of influence and feel increasingly cut off from their roots. Bob, now settled with Wendy, must reconcile old memories and new children while Richard must save his family from themselves. Along the way, they are adopted by the lascivious Lucy Fishwick and her predatory daughter Maddie, whose lives are as mad and chaotic as the radio play Lucy is trying to write and, indeed, the world itself. But despite the coming plague, it doesn’t look like Armageddon. There is to be an apocalypse, but one of personal dimensions. We don’t all go together when we go!

This has been a good read, filled with some great characters who are likeable and realistic. However, this book also links to real life events. A completely unique read from what I am usually reading.

I have liked the writing style of this, the author has made this a book which is easy to get lost in. The writing is easy flowing and nice to be immersed in. Although this book is part of a series, I feel it has been a great standalone read.

The book has a completely unique plot, I can’t say I’ve read anything which relates so closely to real life events prior to this one. That alone has made this a memorable read.

I have found this is an engaging and enjoyable read which I have enjoyed. Definitely recommend this book.

Summertime at the Cornish Confetti Agency Daisy James

Thrilled to join this gorgeous blog tour for this gorgeous author.

It’s Summertime at The Cornish Confetti Agency!

When Lexie Harrington is asked to co-ordinate Kat and Dylan’s ‘English village fête’ wedding, she’s determined that this time everything will go according to her carefully laid plans; no ice bucket challenges, no whoopee cushions, and absolutely no googly eyes attached to everything in sight!

With gorgeous journalist-cum-wedding columnist Theo Barker to offer a helping hand, Lexie is optimistic that she can deliver the fairy tale wedding her clients have always dreamed of…. until the best man Noah is targeted by a loose hosepipe, the wedding rings go walk-about, and his beloved scarlet Porsche takes on a distinctly unpleasant aroma.

Can Lexie and Theo uncover what’s behind the mysterious goings on, or will the Cornish Confetti Agency be forced to close its doors to the future brides and grooms of glorious Cornwall?

An uplifting, feel-good story perfect for the summer holidays, and the second book in The Cornish Confetti Agency series.

I absolutely adore Daisy’s books so immediately got excited about a newbie. This one has certainly been worth the wait. If the gorgeous cover isn’t enough to tempt you to pick this one up, it definitely should be.

This has been a completely gorgeous read and I have found that this has been difficult to put down. I have been completely captivated by the book and have devoured this in just one sitting.

I have loved it, Daisy has a way of making you feel as though you have escaped while you read her books. She is an extremely talented author and I honestly think this might be my new favourite book. It is a wonderful escapist read which has really lifted my spirits.

I have loved everything about this book, the characters are brilliant, the setting is beautiful and the plot just flows. This is without a doubt a five star read, only it definitely deserves higher.

The Final Verdict Sally Rigby

Thrilled to join this blog tour.

The judge has spoken……everyone must die.

When a killer starts murdering lawyers in a prestigious law firm, and every lead takes them to a dead end, Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker finds herself grappling for a motive.

What links these deaths, and why use a lethal injection?

Alongside forensic psychologist, Dr Georgina Cavendish, they close in on the killer, while all the time trying to not let their personal lives get in the way of the investigation.

For fans of Rachel Abbott, Mark Dawson and M A Comley, Final Verdict is the sixth in the Cavendish & Walker series. A fast paced murder mystery which will keep you guessing.

Another new author for me, but I can safely say I have loved this book. I have been completely hooked by this one. This is a great read which I have completely devoured.

This one which is very cleverly written and easy to lose yourself in the pages. The concept of members of a law team being killed with a lethal injection is dark. I have loved it. The characters are great and this is written in such a way you feel as though you are watching the events play out.

I highly recommend this absolutely fantastic read. It has definitely captivated me and kept me completely gripped. The book is fantastic and I can’t wait to read more by this author. This has definitely converted me as a fan. I cannot say anything negative about this one.

This is a new author for me, but oh my goodness I have loved this book. I will be eagerly adding other books to my TBR after writing this review. A review which I’m unsure will do this book justice.

I was initially attracted by the cover, it looks a little dark and instantly grabbed my attention- I haven’t been disappointed either. This is a completely gripping and engaging read which has captivated me from the very first page.

Can I Give My husband Back? Kristen Bailey

Thank you to Bookouture for having me on this blog tour.

It’s normal to prefer getting a filling at the dentist’s to spending time with your husband, right?

I thought I was sorted on the life front. I was a heart surgeon with a loving partner and two gorgeous little girls. Except my husband’s version of ‘loving’ is lying, cheating and sleeping his way around London. Which means I definitely deserve a refund.

Unfortunately, moving on isn’t that simple. Just because I know how to operate on a heart doesn’t mean I know how to fix my broken one. Plus, I lost the receipt for him years ago so I’m definitely getting short changed.

But now I’m single, am I ready to mingle? There are a few minor issues:

1) The last time I went on a date double denim was in fashion and my eyebrows were horrendously overplucked.

2) Men wear stupidly skinny jeans now.

3) I don’t know how to use dating apps but at least I don’t have to get changed out of my pyjamas.

4) Sometimes the most promising thing you have in common with a guy is a shared love of prawns.

5) I don’t know whether to open a date with ‘hi’ or ‘hello’ or ‘hey’ and once I ended up saying ‘howdy’.

Everything happens for a reason, they say. There’s plenty more fish in the sea. But what happens when everything falls apart and you haven’t got a clue how to go fishing?

An absolutely hilarious and utterly relatable tale for anyone who has ever survived a nightmare relationship, felt a little lonely or nursed a broken heart with wine and carbs. This feel-good novel will get you back on your feet and genuinely laughing out loud. Perfect for fans of Why Mummy Drinks, Sophie Ranald and Sophie Kinsella.

Oh my goodness, I love Kristen! I actually wish we could be friends because she is hilarious. This book has made me laugh so much my sides hurt.

I absolutely adore books by Kristen, they never disappoint. This has been a welcome revisit to the Callaghan family. I love Emma’s character in this one, she is definitely strong and independent.

This book is definitely the pick me up and anxiety buster I’ve needed. It has allowed me to switch off and completely relax my mind with added hilarity thrown in. Kristen writes in such a way you are captivated from the very first page.

I loved the last book, but this book is even better. I’m so excited to see what the future has in store for Kristen, she definitely has a huge talent. This is definitely an author you’d want ” An evening with” tour filled with Wine and a lot of laughing.

Most definitely recommend this book and find it is highly deserving of five stars.

Tell That to my Heart Eliza J.Scott

Thrilled to join this blog tour.

Jemima Dewberry wears her heart on her sleeve. Her weakness for bad boys, coupled with her track record for making bad decisions has led to endless heartbreak. The only trouble is, she can’t seem to kick the habit.

On top of that, her “dream” job at Yorkshire Portions magazine hasn’t turned out to be what she’d hoped, and she seems to have developed the knack of annoying her boss without even trying. It doesn’t help that the new girl seems to have taken an instant dislike to her. All that’s keeping her there are her best friends Anna-Lisa and Aidey, who have picked up the pieces of her shattered heart more times than they care to remember.

When Jemima’s latest boyfriend turns out to be no better than the rest, the hurt and humiliation is almost unbearable. She declares she’s finally through with love, and swears off men for life. But when charismatic Caspar De Verre walks into the office with his dangerous good looks and mesmerising smile, she’s utterly captivated, and her promises to Anna-Lisa and Aidey not to let her heart rule her head are soon forgotten.

But is Caspar all he seems? Anna-Lisa and Aidey have their doubts. And Herbert, the happy-go-lucky black Labrador Jemima’s looking after, doesn’t seem to like him either.

As Jemima falls for Caspar’s charms she finds herself being forced to confront the struggle between her head and her heart. But which one will prove the most powerful?

And will Jemima get the happy-ever-after she so desperately craves?

Oh man, another book which has made me curse the male population. Poor Jemima. I have really felt for her throughout this book.

This has been a gorgeous read, I was attracted by the gorgeous cover. However, the story inside has been equally as stunning as the cover.

This book is unique and completely engaging. Scott captivated my attention from the beginning and made this a book impossible to put down. I have devoured the gorgeous gem in just one sitting.

This has been a heartwarming and easy read which has provided a wonderful escape from the current reality. I have absolutely adored this one. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who needs a pick me up read.

A definite five star book for me, I have loved it. Can’t wait to read more.

Facade Melody Saleh

Thrilled to join Love Books Group for this tour.

Amber can’t get Patrick out of her mind. Night after night he haunts her dreams . . . teasing her . . .  pleasuring her . . . owning her body . . . until her alarm rings. Left unsatisfied night after night, she devises a plan to bring her fantasies to life—with a platinum wig, blue contact lenses, and a new persona.

Stay-at-home mom Debra adores her husband, but wishes for a little more spice and adventure in her life.  She’s not even sure she’s ever had an orgasm!  But when tragedy strikes, her dreams come true in ways she never imagined…or wanted.

Despite a hard life as a single black Muslim mother, up-and-coming fashion designer Zya finally has a successful business and a sense of security, despite the increasing persecution she and her daughter experience.  But then a mysterious stranger comes into her life, challenging everything she thought she knew about love. But can it be real?

Gorgeous Dominque likes sex—wild, kinky, and lots of it.  Secretly longing for something real and lasting, she settles for less, burying her insecurity and self-doubt between late-night trysts and anemia.  But before long, she’s forced to face her fears, or succumb to them.

Four friends…each hiding behind a façade.  But as fantasy clashes with reality, things aren’t always as they appear.

After 35+ years in operations for various businesses (including her own), Melody pursued her dream of writing a novel. Having written for business publications, local magazines and even publishing a poem, Chemo’s not for Sissies, during treatment after her first cancer diagnosis, it was time to finish the novel that was started many years ago. When she started  writing, “Facade: Things Aren’t Always as They Appear,” she had no idea where her characters were going to take her. “The story basically wrote itself. It was like a movie projector playing in my mind,” is how she describes her experience. It soon became apparent, their voices were not to be silenced… “The Unbroken Series” was born. “Deja Vu: Here We Go Again,” Book II, to be released June 23, 2020, followed by C’est la Vie, Book III, in December.

Melody lives with her husband in her native home state Florida. She’s blessed to be alive today after two cancer diagnoses and enjoys watching her grandchildren grow up; something she doesn’t take for granted.

This has been an exciting read from the very start. I can honestly say I haven’t wanted to put this one down. I have been completely pulled in from the very beginning. I would describe this book as Fifty Shades of Grey (minus the red room) meets Sex and the City.

The author has introduced the characters perfectly. I’m excited to follow their journey throughout the series. This has definitely been an easy and enjoyable read which has been filled with intrigue, friendship and suspense.

At this point, I don’t feel I like any of the characters more or less than others. I’m definitely keen to find out what this author has in store for us. I was initially attracted by the Kardashianesque cover of this one. It’s very sophisticated and captures your attention.

I definitely haven’t been disappointed by this author, definitely definitely need more.
